Intentions & Good Faith Agreements
If you are going to organize a Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® event, we ask that you consider and agree to these intentions and good-faith agreements. Since 2001, our interest has been to inspire and support local efforts to educate their communities and raise funds to support their education and treatment efforts. We want a Walk Event to be something you can make your own in a way that fits for your community. You know your community better than anyone. We ask, though, that you consider our intentions and good-faith agreements. A good collaboration includes the interests of everyone involved. These are some of our interests.
You may organize a Walk Event for awareness (community, campus-only or class-room experience) and/or to raise funds anywhere in the world except within 60 miles of the Canadian cities identified in Exclusions.
We ask that you have a Walk Publicity Partner/Beneficiary. A Walk Event is an opportunity to educate your community about local resources. The Walk Publicity Partner/Beneficiary is that organization. The Walk Publicity Partner/Beneficiary must be a rape crisis center, domestic violence shelter and/or other qualified organization or program that works toward stopping sexualized violence.
If you meet the criteria, you may be the Organizer and the Publicity Partner/Beneficiary. If you are not the Walk Publicity Partner/Beneficiary, you must include information about and/or by your Walk Publicity Partner/Beneficiary and their services in your publicity and at your Walk Event. We encourage you to have representatives from your Walk Publicity Partner/Beneficiary at your Walk Event and when talking with the public and press.
If you organize to raise funds, we ask that all net proceeds after organizing expenses from your Walk Event go to the Publicity Partner/Beneficiary. Any money related to your Walk Event must be managed by you and will not be collected by, managed by, monitored by, nor dispersed by Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®.
You are encouraged, but not obligated, to send photographs, audio tapes or video tapes of your Walk Event to Frank Baird, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®, a Venture Humanity, Inc. Project. You authorize Frank Baird, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®, a Venture Humanity, Inc. Project free use of these media for any purposes in celebration of and promotion of Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®, Walk Events and its causes.
